Nicole Perry is in her final year of the journalism program at TRU with a continuing passion for seeking out stories that usually fly under the radar. The drive to uncover truths in the public interest and right societal wrongs has led her to pursue this career trajectory. Writing fiction was her childhood hobby, and with the program, she discovered her love of interviewing and getting to know real people.
She has written two stories for The Wren, an independent Kamloops news outlet. She has interned at CBC-Radio Kamloops where her skills have been able to expand beyond print journalism. With this internship, she was able to pitch stories and develop them by recording interviews and editing using the CBC Dalet system.
An extrovert with an adventurous spirit, Nicole finds it easy to seek out relationships and build trust. Among her aspirations is the desire to travel the world, meeting as many people as possible and learning their stories.
